2026 Panini Donruss Road to FIFA World Cup kicks off the trading-card build-up to the biggest World Cup in history – the first 48-team tournament, hosted across the USA, Canada and Mexico in summer 2026. As the opening release in Panini's Road to FIFA World Cup line (ahead of Select, Noir and the premium National Treasures), Donruss delivers exactly what collectors love: a huge base set, an endless Optichrome parallel ladder, and the iconic Kaboom! chase.

Base Set – 250 Cards

This is the deepest Donruss Soccer base set to date – 250 cards in total, made up of 200 base cards and 50 Rated Rookies, expanded by 50 cards over last year to reflect the jump from 32 to 48 teams. The checklist features stars, legends and breakout talents from 30 national teams, from Messi, Ronaldo and Mbappé to the next generation chasing their first World Cup.

Collector's note: The base checklist was finalised before qualification ended in late March 2026. That means a few featured nations – including Italy, Poland, Nigeria, Northern Ireland and Paraguay – did not make the finals, while some qualified sides (Japan, the Netherlands, Belgium, and first-timers Cape Verde and Curaçao) aren't in this first set. It's part of what makes this early "Road to" release a unique snapshot.

Parallels – Optichrome Ladder

As always with Donruss, the parallel rainbow is enormous. Unnumbered Optichrome versions include Bronze, Cubic, Diamond, Maze, Optic, Optic Holo, Optic Ice, Optic Velocity, Red & Gold, Red & Green and Silver. Numbered parallels climb all the way up: Teal /199, Orange /99, Red /75, Red Cubic /50, Blue /49, Pink Diamond /25, Purple /25, Gold /10, Green /5 and the Hobby-exclusive Black 1/1.

Inserts

Around 48 inserts per Hobby box, roughly four per pack. The headline chase is the beloved holofoil Kaboom!, this year featuring a first-ever appearance for legends like Pelé. Also look for returning favourites Dominators, the cosmic Zero Gravity, and the anime-styled Animation inserts.

Autographs & Memorabilia

Every Hobby box averages one autograph and one memorabilia card. Signature Series brings top prospects, greats and legends – named signers include Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, Harry Kane and Robert Lewandowski – while the rare The Beautiful Game Dual Autographs are a genuine chase. Memorabilia comes via Kit Kings (a nod to the classic Diamond Kings), with Silver /99, Blue /49, Gold /10 and Black 1/1 parallels.
